History of this exceptional drink dates back to antiquity, when fermented drinks from sugar cane syrup where made. The first records of distillation or rum come from the plantations in Caribbean in the 17th century. It was the plantation slaves who first discovered that the molasses, a secondary product of sugar cane processing, can be fermented and thus alcohol is made. The production of rum was recorder for example on island Barbados, in Brazil, but later the production spread also to colonial North America or New England.
History of our production dates back to 2012, when Blue Mauritius Gold was first created. During the production, only the finest sugar cane distilate from the island is used. The technology of it's production is inherited by the Mauritian people from generation to generation. In a relatively small time, Blue Mauritius Gold gained reputation at home and also world wide. A newcomer to the family is an unique product Blue Mauritius GIN, that is made from pure sugar cane distillate. Before the distillation process, the molasses fermentum must be prepared. After two days, it is ready for processing and is distillated on 95% pure alcohol, which is after that reduced and aged in port barrels.
After about a year of aging in barrels, the product is blended on final 40% concentration and is cold filtered. All the aromas and tastes of the product are kept, and then the bottling to high quality bottles begins.
Blue Mauritius Gold is produced in limited edition about 6000 bottles a month, that is why it is rare and exceptional. Product is hand bottled into high-quality glass with wooden cap. At the end, the bottle is hand decorated with medallion on leather lace.
